"Look around and you'll probably find art inspired furniture and decor all around your own
home. We all have different tastes and like different things - the world would be pretty boring if
we didn't. We seem to enjoy an eclectic decorating scheme. We also enjoy finding
"treasures" at yard sales, and at antique and used stores, etc. Things that we've managed to
make ourselves or revamp from an old piece are some of our favourites. Here are some
examples from Happy Rock Studio"
Debbie & Dennis K.
This is one of a couple of
floor lamps that were
rescued from the
curbside and given new
life with new wiring,
colours and finishes.
The top photo at right is a whimsical serpent that Dennis cut out to adorn the gated entrance to a pool deck.
Debbie added a cool green fringe to this upholstery material to make a nice antique feeling table cloth.
|
The photo at far left is of a distressed style computer cabinet that also holds a printer and scanner. It began as a wooden crate found in the basement.
An old metal apothecary cabinet received some new colours to become an office cabinet.

Debbie and Dennis found a special place for this bowl given to them by
friends. They cut a hole in the bottom and made it into a cute bowl sink
for a mini 2 piece bath.
Vines were cut from the back yard and added to the wall of the main bath
in the photo above right.
Another old wooden box found
in the basement was
transformed into a distressed
coffee table. Legs and handles
and brass corners were added -
(the top opens for storage). It
was painted with a purple
under-paint and thinned black
over top.

Dennis painted this original

This unique

"bee" is from The

St. Thomas, Ontario.
Here it decorates 2

enclosed back
porch.
Dennis & Debbie liked the whimsical energy and dramatic flair of this interesting wire sculpture by Todd Lancaster of London, Ontario.
